The British Heart Foundation
The British Heart Foundation is the Nations Heart Charity. Their Vision is for a World where people don’t die prematurely from heart disease. They will achieve this through pioneering research, vital prevention activity and ensuring quality care and support for everyone living with heart disease.
When you have a Vision as big as theirs it needs a huge amount of help, support and money to reach their goals. Within the next generation they aim to reduce Cardiovascular Disease to one of the lowest levels in Europe.
Within the next decade they aim to halve the number of people aged under 75 who die from Heart disease, make at least two thirds of people under 75 survive a heart attack and also to reverse the increase in childhood obesity.
Help for Heroes
Help for Heroes does exactly what it says on the tin!
H4H strives towards 100% effectiveness, so that for every £1 donated, all will go directly to helping wounded Servicemen and Women. Of course they have overheads but most of their costs are covered by the sale of merchandise.
They spend every penny possible on making grants that aim to provide invaluable, practical and direct support for the wounded and are very proud to have allocated nearly £100M to very worthwhile and deserving recipients since 2007.
